Our Services
Behaviour Support
Behaviour Support focuses on improving a participant’s quality of life and reducing behaviours of concern through evidence-based strategies that are person-centred and proactive. Practitioners develop and implement behaviour support plans in collaboration with the participant, their family, and support network.
Interim Behaviour Support Plans
An interim plan is a short-term document created when urgent risks need immediate management. It provides quick, practical strategies to ensure safety and reduce harm while a detailed assessment is underway. Interim plans prioritise restrictive practice safeguards and crisis responses.
Comprehensive Behaviour Support Plans
A comprehensive plan builds on detailed assessment and data collection. It outlines long-term, positive behaviour supports, skill-building strategies, and environmental adjustments. This plan addresses the underlying causes of behaviours and includes clear goals, intervention strategies, and review processes.
Functional Behaviour Assessment (FBA) & Data Analysis
An FBA is a structured assessment to identify the purpose or function of behaviours of concern by analysing triggers, patterns, and outcomes. Practitioners gather data through observations, interviews, and incident records to develop hypotheses about why the behaviour occurs. Data analysis informs tailored strategies in both interim and comprehensive plans, ensuring interventions are targeted, measurable, and effective.
Psychological Therapy
Psychological therapy for disabilities provides evidence-based mental health support to enhance emotional wellbeing, daily functioning, and quality of life for people with cognitive, developmental, or physical disabilities. This therapy is delivered by qualified professionals such as psychologists, clinical social workers, counsellors, occupational therapists with mental health training, and mental health nurses. Interventions are tailored to each participant’s individual needs and may include approaches such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), mindfulness-based strategies, or supportive counselling. The process begins with a thorough psychological assessment to identify strengths, challenges, and personal goals, using clinical interviews, observations, and standardised tools where appropriate. Data is collected and analysed to track progress, evaluate outcomes, and refine therapeutic strategies. Interventions focus on developing coping skills, emotional regulation, problem-solving abilities, and resilience, while supporting improved social participation and independence.
Functional Capacity Assessments
NDIS functional capacity assessments evaluate a participant’s ability to perform daily activities and participate in the community to determine the type and level of supports required. These assessments are conducted by qualified professionals such as occupational therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists, social workers, or mental health nurses, depending on the participant’s needs.
The process involves comprehensive interviews, direct observation, and standardised assessment tools to measure areas such as self-care, mobility, communication, social interaction, learning, and self-management. Information is gathered from the participant, their family, and support network to create a holistic understanding of their strengths, challenges, and support requirements.
Data collected during the assessment is analysed to identify functional limitations, environmental barriers, and opportunities for skill development. The findings are documented in a detailed report, which provides evidence to guide NDIS funding decisions and informs therapy plans, capacity-building strategies, and recommendations for assistive technology or support services.
