Christian

Christian is the Director of Behaviour Support and Therapy at New Light and a Credentialled Mental Health Nurse with over 20 years of experience across the mental health, disability, and forensic sectors. He provides Behaviour Support and therapeutic services to both NDIS participants and private clients, with extensive experience supporting individuals with complex psychosocial and behavioural needs.

Christian holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Nursing Studies and a Bachelor of Law, bringing a practical, evidence-based approach to assessment, intervention, and clinical consultation. He has published research in the areas of disability, mental health, and the justice system, and has extensive experience in leadership, complex assessments, and report writing. Outside of work, Christian enjoys walking his dog along the beach, cooking, staying active, listening to music, playing the guitar, and following English football.

Christian covers the Byron, Lismore, Ballina, Tweed areas. He also offers supervision and telehealth.

Meg

Meg is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and Behaviour Practitioner with over 15 years of clinical experience supporting children, adolescents, adults and families across a range of therapeutic and complex care settings. She is passionate about skill development, emotional wellbeing and delivering family-oriented support that creates meaningful and lasting outcomes for the people she works with.

Meg values building strong therapeutic relationships and takes a compassionate, practical and collaborative approach to her work, supporting individuals and families to feel understood, empowered and connected.

When she’s not working, Meg enjoys spending time gardening and being outdoors.

Meg covers the Byron, Tweed, Ballina and Lismore areas. She also offers telehealth and supervision.

Sophie

Sophie is a qualified Social Worker with over 20 years’ experience across the disability and community sectors, specialising in children and teens. She has worked in a range of roles including behaviour support, therapy, family support, early intervention, and community inclusion.  She is passionate about delivering inclusive, person- and family-centred behaviour support that is strengths-based, trauma-informed, and neuroaffirming. Sophie takes a practical and flexible approach, grounded in a holistic understanding of wellbeing. She values working in partnership to achieve meaningful outcomes and is committed to a “team around the person” approach, collaborating with families, support networks, and other professionals.

Outside of work, Sophie enjoys spending time with her family, being by the ocean, swimming, surfing, kayaking, and walking her dog, Moose, as well as exploring the natural beauty of the local area. 

Sophie covers Ballina, Byron, Lismore, Casino areas and can offer telehealth.

Shae

Shae has a background in Psychological Science, holding a bachelor’s degree along with a Cert III in Aged Care. She brings over 12 years of experience across a diverse range of settings, including disability, aged care, crisis support, and disaster recovery, with a particular expertise in justice system advocacy and diversion. Shae is passionate about supporting individuals with complex psychosocial needs and cognitive impairments, incorporating a person-centered approach that recognises an individual’s innate strengths.

Since moving to the Northern Rivers from Adelaide in 2020, Shae has become deeply committed to her local community and meaningful, trauma-informed advocacy.

Outside of work, Shae enjoys sending time with her son, gardening, playing piano, and exploring the local rainforests.  

Shae covers the Lismore, Kyogle, Nimbin areas. She can also offer telehealth.

Jasper

Jasper has a background in Psychology, having completed a Bachelor with Honours degree, and has previous experience in therapy focused on skill building. He continues to focus on skill development in his behaviour support role, assisting clients to develop practical skills that improve independence, wellbeing and overall quality of life.

He is passionate about taking a holistic approach to health and wellbeing, recognising the importance of emotional, physical and mental health in achieving meaningful outcomes. Outside of work, he enjoys staying physically active and spending time in nature. His interests include going to the gym, mixed martial arts, surfing, cooking and adventure activities.

Jasper covers the Tweed and Gold Coast area. He also provides telehealth.

Anna

Anna Conlan is a Behaviour Support Practitioner with a Bachelor of Social Science, majoring in Advanced Social Welfare. Anna has over 10 years’ experience working in the disability sector and has specialised in supporting individuals with complex mental health and psychosocial needs across a range of settings.

Anna is passionate about supporting participants to live fulfilling and meaningful lives, with a strong focus on mental health, wellbeing, and positive outcomes regardless of diagnosis. She also has a genuine passion for working alongside Indigenous families and communities, valuing culturally safe, respectful, and person-centred practice. Anna takes an empathetic and understanding approach to her work, focusing on building strong therapeutic relationships and empowering participants to build confidence, independence, and quality of life.

Outside of work, Anna enjoys spending time with her family and is always eager to continue learning and developing new skills.

Anna covers the Lismore, Ballina, Casino and Byron area. She also offers telehealth.

Yoko

Yoko manages our accounts and administration, helping ensure the smooth day-to-day running of New Light. Originally from Japan, she lived in England for many years before moving to Australia.

New Light is expanding, and we’re looking for Behaviour Support Practitioners with Allied Health background who value thoughtful, relationship-based work and a collaborative team culture.
